AVIVA LEAH MALACHI

I’m a Brooklynite and have been working as a freelance makeup artist since moving here in 2013. My time as a hair salon assistant strengthened my hairstyling skills. I am active in most nonunion areas of the industry: events and bridal; print and video production; creative and editorial. I’ve been a regular behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week (NYFW). In addition to working with adults, I specialize in children’s grooming.

I’ve freelanced for fashion and beauty brands including Louis Vuitton and Origins. I’ve prepped Etsy CEO Josh Silverman for Business Insider and Olympic World Cup winner Kikkan Randal for the NBCU Upfronts. My work has appeared in Photo Vogue and Man Repeller.

My passion for makeup artistry started with my early childhood love of drawing. I started expressing myself through theater, both on the stage and behind the scenes. Experimenting with my makeup presented another way to find myself, and to fight a painfully conservative environment. I studied studio art at Brown University, where I continued with theater, and applied my love for makeup to campus and community.

I’m available for contract work as well as group classes and one-on-one lessons, both in person and remotely.
